STUDENT ENGAGEMENT CO-ORDINATOR

40 hours per week, 37 weeks per year, Term Time

Salary (FTE) £24,717 per annum starting salary depending on experience and qualifications.

Actual Salary for working 40 hours and 37 weeks per year £20,171


We are seeking to appoint another Student Engagement Co-ordinator to implement a student engagement and positive approaches strategy across the college sites.

You will be expected to identify and deliver strategies that achieve a high level of student engagement.


You will be required to carry out your duties at all College premises, some of which are located a distance from the main College site, and at other places as the Trust may reasonably require, which may include student residential settings.


The post holder will be expected to travel on a regular basis between the Trust's sites, and to and from other places as the Trust may reasonably require.


Main Duties:


  • To share line management duties for the Day Time Support Workers, with the other Student Engagement Coordinators ensuring that all performance management paperwork is completed in line with Ruskin Mill Trust policy, and where necessary making recommendations to the Education and Health Care Manager.
  • To take a proactive approach to incident management ensuring all information is reported accurately and all data recorded accurately in a timely manner.
  • To work proactively with the Education and Health Care Manager in the delivery of highly effective student support and engagement strategies within the student caseload.
  • To support the recording, reporting, and tracking of student attendance, positive observations, and evaluation of incident data.
  • To be a positive role model to the Day Time Support Worker team and Students.
  • Work closely with the college's Assistant Principal to improve attendance and engagement for the students.
  • To support and embed the Practical Skills Therapeutic Education throughout the curriculum in conjunction with the wider College staff team and ensuring all Day Time Support Workers have a strong understanding of this in relation to the student group.
  • Work closely with the College admissions team to facilitate and support student assessments throughout the year.
  • Liaise with visitors and external agencies regarding students as directed by the Education and Health Care Manager

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • experience of line managing a team
- knowledge of specialist education and experience of working with SEN learners
- have a strong desire to support young people, have excellent observational skills, and the ability to problem-solve and think creatively to enable our students to reimagine their potential.
- the ability to manage emotionally challenging situations with emotional intelligence and resilience, and to have the capacity to react calmly in stressful situations.
- good interpersonal skills
- an ability to demonstrate effective decision making.
- accuracy when completing administrative tasks and attention to detail.
- a full driving licence (access to a vehicle is not necessary)
