    SEMH Teacher Needed at Special Education School

    We are looking for a SEMH teacher for a SEND school Our supportive and close-knit special education school serving students with social, emotional, and mental health challenges is seeking a dedicated SEMH Teacher to join our team. You will be a class teacher to a class size of 6 to 14 students all with EHCP plans, along side you will be a team of dedicated support staff to work with the students.

    As an SEMH Teacher you will be expected to teach the class, create appropriate resources, Complete planning and ensure it is differentiated for all children in your class. You will be creating engaging lessons, planning trips when available and ensuring the students can access the environment and curriculum

    The responsibilities include:

    Teaching classes across a range of subjects catered to students' individual learning needs

    Developing engaging lesson plans that incorporate emotional regulation, relationship-building, and self-management skills

    Employing specialized instruction techniques such as visual schedules, movement breaks, sensory tools, and positive behaviour supports

    Collaborating with other teachers, counsellors, and parents to implement customized behaviour plans

    Encouraging students to express themselves in healthy ways and providing emotional support

    Collecting data on behaviour and academic progress to adjust teaching strategies

    Maintaining an structured, compassionate classroom environment

    The ideal candidate will have:

    Special education degree and certification in SEMH

    Experience teaching students with learning disabilities, ADHD, mood disorders, trauma, etc.

    Access to a vehicle and the ability to drive

    Knowledge of de-escalation techniques and conflict resolution strategies

    Strong classroom management abilities

    Empathy, patience, and passion for working with special needs children

    The successful candidate will be required to:
