We will, however need your base 'home' location to be one of our SSE offices or depots around the UK and Ireland.

The Asset Operations team within SSE Energy Solutions operates many types of complex energy networks.

Operating these networks over their whole life in an efficient and effective manner is core to our overall Operational, Financial, and commercial success.

The Head of Asset Management role is at the heart of realising this success by ensuring that we have the right asset management strategies in place and that all networks are performing to the best of their ability and meeting all our regulatory and statutory obligations.

The role will deliver on a comprehensive capital re-investment program across our schemes throughout their life to ensure continued operational availability whilst driving our technology towards a Net Zero solution.

Ensuring we have the right information and data being generated from our networks so that we can then make informed decisions around future operating and maintenance strategies will form a key part of this role.

The role will work extensively with our key stakeholders within O&M, Commercial and Adoption to ensure that any factors impacting the effective operation of our networks are understood and actively managed.

Role Responsibilities:

Support the development of the annual Asset Operations SHEW plan. Drive and deliver the key deliverables of the SHEW for Asset Operations and SSE Energy Solutions.
Own our O&M and Asset Management strategies across both the Heat and BtM sectors. This will include having a robust network authority arrangement in place that ensures that any change upon our networks is actively reviewed and approved before it is implemented.
Overall Accountability for Capital Replacement strategy and associated P&L
Ensure all permits and certification (Regulatory, Statutory, Environmental) required by our operation is understood, in place and actively managed.
Establish Energy Performance Management criteria for all Networks across our Heat sector. Review performance against that criteria and address any shortcomings identified

What do I need?
To be considered for this role, we would love you to have:

Excellent working experience in Asset Management of complex sites and systems
Degree educated in engineering or related field would be advantageous, but not essential
Strong knowledge of energy management best practices, energy efficiency, and renewable technologies
Strong commercial understanding around Asset Operational risks and guarantees
Strong Commercial acumen with experience of building an operational business/teams
