    Job summary

    We are looking for an individual whois welcoming, hardworking, friendly and possesses the empathic NHS care ethicrequired to provide care to our patients.We pride our selves on delivering the highest standard of healthcare toour local community.

    The purpose of the role is to provide bothpatient facing reception duties and administrative support in order to assistin the smooth running of the practice.Reception duties to include assisting and directing patients to accessthe appropriate service or healthcare professional in a courteous, efficient,and effective way. We are looking for ateam player with good communication skills and the ability to multi-task.

    Main duties of the job

    Duties include but are not limited to:

  • To provide general reception cover ona rota system, when required, with other members of the surgery team includingboth telephone and face to face reception duties
  • Answering queries from patients and signpostingto the relevant healthcare provider
  • To act as keyholder with responsibility for opening up/locking up of practicepremises and maintaining security in accordance with practice protocols, as and when required
  • To provide administration support tothe reception team for all aspects of EMIS Web Workflow manager including butnot limited to: Tasks, Lab Reports, Document Management, Referral Managementand Test Requests
  • Use Accurix to send reminder texts and information to patients
  • To monitor and action Generic practiceemails
  • To assist Clinical &Administration Staff in any other duties as and when required
  • To liaise with local IT supportdepartment & EMIS to resolve hardware and software issues when required
  • Ensure total familiarity with theappointment system including regular and incidental variations
  • Monitor effectiveness of theappointment system and report any problems or variations to the PracticeManager.

    Southport and Formby Health Ltd is a local GP Federation, that specialises in the provision of primary care clinical and support services. Our main focus is supporting primary care services and helping to develop and grow the workforce of the Primary Care Networks (PCN) we serve.

    Lincoln House Surgery is based within Southport and Formby PCN in a predominantly residential area, providing healthcare for approximately 2,000 patients.

    Qualifications

    Essential

  • GCSE in Maths and English or equivalent qualification
  • Skills and Knowledge

    Essential

  • Good typing skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Ability to use own judgement and common sense
  • Desirable

  • EMIS Clinical System
  • Understanding of medical terminology
  • Experience

    Essential

  • Excellent computer skills (ECDL) or equivalent on the job experience
  • Experience in a GP or other reception role
  • Desirable

  • Experience in a healthcare setting
  • Previous experience of handling confidential records
