Compliance Manager - Consumer duty
Redhill, Surrey
£70-75,000 + £6K car allowance and excellent benefits
Fantastic financial services company are currently looking for a Compliance Manager on a 12 month fixed term contract.

They will be responsible for the scoping and delivery of the Consumer Duty Plan to ensure effective alignment of business activity and oversightagainst key risk and regulatory standards.

They will also be acting as the principle point of contact for Compliance within the Consumer Duty Project.

Responsibilities will include:
Consumer Duty Implementation

  • Support the strategy for Consumer Duty implementation including methodology and approach
  • Contribute to the creation of the Consumer Duty Plan (CDP) based on business needs, internal and external highrisk areas
  • Attend Conduct Risk and Executive Risk Committee to keep up to date with internal issues
  • Regularly attend industry events to identify key external risks
  • Liaison with various teams and external parties to ensure all risk areas are covered
  • Attend meetings with external regulators to provide updates on CDP and other relevant activity
  • Liaise with internal stakeholders regarding the findings of the Consumer Duty review and agree/develop actions
  • Establish and agree action timeframes and monitor actions to completion
  • Report any noncompliance with timeframes to conduct risk and escalate any significant findings to Exco
  • Review plan monthly to determine if it remains suitable and submit any proposed changes to Exco/Conduct Risk where needed
  • Attend required Committees and Forums to present CDP and outcomes
Advisory

  • SME for regulatory change
  • Working with the Head of Compliance to identify regulatory changes which would impact the business
  • Assess business impact and work with the business to implement change
  • Provide compliance advice on regulatory change
  • Provide advice to assist the business to establish BAU activities post implementation.
  • Management of risks raised
  • Work with joint ventures to provide oversight information to enable them to strengthen their oversight
  • Provide the Head of Compliance with regular MI on key areas of concern and emerging trends
Management

  • Oversight of workflows and output from team members
  • Support the team to deliver against agreed objectives
  • Working with other members of the Compliance function and the Head of Compliance to ensure alignment to strategy and effective management of resource

What we're ideally looking for:

  • Extensive knowledge of Compliance Monitoring activity and development of plan
  • Developed knowledge of FCA regulations and rule books
  • Understanding of Motor Finance
  • Previous experience in leading a team both virtual and in person
  • Strong organisational skills and flexibility to adapt to a changing environment
  • A good knowledge of current UK regulation affecting the business and industry
  • A need for accuracy and an eye for detail
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to influence and build relationships
  • Ability to work independently using own initiative, as well as part of a team
  • Ability to meet aggressive deadlines
  • Welldeveloped report writing and I.T. skills
  • Enthusiasm and a desire to learn
