Commercial Manager - Energy

Birmingham

£Basic Salary + Car/Allowance + 10% Bonus
Howells Recruitment are working with a Leading Contractor operating in the Energy and Technical Services sector.

The Commercial Manager will be responsible for a range of PFI contracts.


Responsibilities:


  • Provide contract commercial management and profit improvement, risk and opportunity management along with focus on compliance.
  • Support growth within on the existing contracts as well as new business development initiatives to extend the suite of contracts in the region.
  • Manage numerous stakeholder relationships, including external relationships with clients, suppliers and SPV/lenders in additional to division leadership and functions.
  • Leading governance within the contracts to ensure that the requirements of the contract and business own internal governance processes are being complied with.
  • Negotiating, on an equitable basis, internally and externally to ensure that the business is not exposed to risk.
  • Leading in all dispute resolution activity in these contracts areas or having a thorough input into the dispute resolution activity.
  • Ensuring a contract review and governance framework is embedded on all contracts.
  • Dealing reactively in mitigation key risk areas as they arise and providing support to Finance and Operations to resolve in a timely manner

Required Experience:


  • Suitable commercial experience
  • Educated to degree/ diploma level in either Law, Business, Surveying (Building/Quantity), or the Built Environment (FM, Land).
  • Ideally a member or training to be member of a chartered institution.
  • Excellent communicator
  • Excellent financial acumen with an ability to analyse complex data and documentation with accuracy
  • Skilled negotiator with proven experience in a commercial environment
  • Sound understanding of risk analysis/management
