Position overview

ProPharma is currently partnering with a Biological group establishing a new facility based out of the UK. Currently they require short term support from a 'Validation Microbiologist' to support a variety of matters to help them achieve their final GMP certification. This project is to commence immediately; it will offer full time hours for one month but with a potential for further support along the line of the project. This is an onsite position based in Hampshire.

Responsibilities include

• Train a small team in the actual sample collecting, incubation, basic morphology, and gram staining
• Carry out morphology tests and identification and subsequent gram staining.
• Carry out preparation of pure samples for external speciation
• Prepare and incubate as required pure cultures for standard compendials.
• Prepare and incubate as required any specific cultures that appear in our baseline monitoring and are not covered by the compendial isolates.
• Carry out the coupon testing against three disinfectants including all dilutions.
• Write the final report
• Support cleaning validation and review
• Check the SOP's for active air sampling, use of machine and post-processing which is included in the Risk assessment
• Preparation of pure cultures and either carry out the exercise or train us to do so.

Qualifications

• A University degree in Microbiology or a related life-sciences discipline
• Must have demonstrated experience working in Validation linked to Microbiology
• Ideally exposed to all tasks set out within the job description
• Can start immediately and work full time for 1 month
• Can attend the site in Hampshire on a daily basis
• Overall support and guidance to our client in the Microbiology area
