    JOB TITLE:

    Junior Accountant

    ROLE TYPE (permanent/temporary):

    Permanent / full-time

    LOCATION / REMOTE WORKING:

    Office based (Head Office) in Hertfordshire and potential to work from their 2nd Office occasionally, in Hertfordshire.

    HOURS / DAYS (per week):

    9am – 5:30pm (7.5 hours per day) Mon - Fri

    SALARY RANGE:

    £24,000-£26,000 annual salary (depending on experience)

    NOTICE & PROBATION PERIODS:

    6 months

    20 paid annual leave days plus bank holidays

    JOB DESCRIPTION:

    As a junior accountant you will support the team and your responsibilities will include (but are not limited to):

    • Bookkeeping
    • Producing management accounts and reports
    • VAT Returns
    • Yearend accounts preparation and submission to companies house and HMRC
    • Self-assessment tax returns
    • Liaise with clients to resolve queries and obtain information

    You will be provided extensive training on all of the above but a basic knowledge in these areas is required. The role has the opportunity for growth into a senior role or potentially to specialise in an accounting area of interest.

    • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written

    ANY SPECIFIC TRAINING / QUALIFICATIONS / EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

    SAGE, QuickBooks, Xero experience preferable

    Good basic accounting/bookkeeping knowledge e.g. bank reconciliation, sales ledger reconciliation etc.

    Experience working on Microsoft applications such as excel, outlook and word.

    The ideal candidate will have already spent at least one year working in practice

    APPRENTICESHIP COURSES / LEVELS (if applicable):

    AAT (full or part qualified)
