We have an exciting opportunity available for a
Deputy Manager to join our growing London team, supporting two mental health recovery units in
Tooting & Balham. You will join us on a
full time, permanent basis, working 37.5 hours and in return, we are offering a competitive salary of
£28,121.50 per annum.



Servol Community Servicesis an established, registered charity providing support and accommodation for adults experiencing mental health problems in the West Midlands and London.
Accommodation includes residential 24 hour staffed servicesand semi-supported accommodation.

Key objectives of our Deputy Manager role:

  • To work effectively alongside the Service Manager to ensure the effective and safe running of the units.
  • Be responsible with the Service Manager for maintaining standards in the service and ensuring the service meets the Supporting People framework.
  • To be a role model and mentor to the Mental Health Recovery Workers and Night Concierge teams.

Key responsibilities of our Deputy Manager:

  • Ensure the day-to-day delivery of the service is robust; this will include limited shift cover which will be agreed on a service-by-service basis
  • To play a key role in developing and promoting a recovery focused service, ensuring effective communication is maintained with stakeholders at all times
  • Work with the manager to ensure the admissions process is relevant and robust
  • To participate in the recruitment, selection, and induction of staff
  • To line manage the service delivery teams.
  • The deputy manager is responsible for the performance management, coaching and development of their direct reports
  • Organise and manage the staff rota, ensuring safe staffing at all times
  • To be responsible for maintaining quality standards and ensuring legal and regulatory requirements are met; notifying the manager of any matters that arise
  • Keep up to date with will all relevant statutory/regulatory and quality standards and proactively participate in service improvements
  • To be responsible for completing delegated actions identified through internal and external audits, inspections, and investigations
  • Provide accurate data and information for management reports, risk management and financial monitoring

Skills and experience required to become our Deputy Manager:

  • Demonstratable experience of delivering support services for vulnerable adults including undertaking risk assessments and audits.
  • Relevant years' experience of the daytoday management or supervision of staff and a good understanding of effective techniques, processes and approaches to staff management
  • Working knowledge of quality and safety regulation within voluntary sector mental health services and how service delivery can meet and exceed requirements.
  • Proficient use of a variety of IT systems including Microsoft Office and bespoke case management systems.
