    Description

    Assistant Civil Engineer – Substations

    Due to the sustained growth of our client, Danny Sullivan Group are looking for Assistant Civil Engineers to join their power division.

    This position can be worked from company offices in North or West London.
    In this role, you will play a vital role in supporting the design, permitting, and construction of electrical substations. You will gain valuable experience in the power industry while working on critical infrastructure projects.

    Responsibilities:
    Assist senior engineers with the civil design of electrical substations, including site layout, grading, foundations, drainage, and control buildings.
    Prepare and review construction drawings and specifications using CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, Civil 3D).
    Conduct research and analysis to support the design process, including soil investigations and storm water management calculations.
    Assist with the preparation of permit applications and coordinate with regulatory agencies.
    Participate in site visits and inspections to ensure compliance with construction plans and safety regulations.
    Maintain project documentation and records.
    Assist with cost estimating and scheduling tasks.


    Qualifications:
    Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
    1-3 years of experience in civil engineering design, preferably in the power industry or with relevant infrastructure projects.
    Strong understanding of civil engineering principles and design methodologies.
    Proficiency in AutoCAD or similar CAD software.
    Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
    Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
    Effective communication and collaboration skills.
    Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
