We work with a wide range of data partners to chart the world's oceans in order to develop and serve world leading software and data solutions to commercial shipping companies, navies andmaritime organisations.

Our products ensure safe navigation and global trade efficiency and support other marine activities including economic development, environmental protection, resource exploration and utilisation, scientific research and security anddefence.


The role


As Team Manager, you will be assuming a key leadership position, leading and managing your team to ensure UKHO provide maritime geo-technical Product and Service expertise in support of maritime operational needs.

Utilising your leadership skills, you willbe responsible for taking a strategic approach to change and development within the team - aligning to wider business direction and priorities.


Your responsibilities will include:

  • To ensure work is progressed to timeliness and relevant quality standards are met
  • To act as line manager for Defence Product and Service Managers, undertaking appropriate staff development, coaching and mentoring
  • To lead change and continuous improvement activity in collaboration with Production Engineering and Defence Development Team, ensuring activities are aligned to MYSDA business direction and priorities

You will be able to understand how your team's activities impact on the wider organisation, possessing the strategic awarenessto identify when business concepts are likely to have a downstream impact on your team's work.

As you'll be leading a team of technical/specialist staff working on a wide variety of tasks/outputs, you will need to possess the agility to ensure the successfuldelivery of multiple workstreams according to time, cost and quality.
