    Our client is a multi-disciplinary therapy centre, offering a range of in-person and online therapies and assessments. Therapies include Speech and Language, Occupational Therapy, Art, Drama and Play therapy as well as Autism and ADHD assessments. The company is expanding quickly and everyone working there has a huge love for working with families and children with a strong focus on staff connection and empowerment.

    The following information aims to provide potential candidates with a better understanding of the requirements for this role.

    The demand for assessments and reducing waiting lists is high so there is constant demand for outsourced services. There is a great team to work with and the senior management is both engaged and determined to build systems that change lives. There is a roadmap of functionality and they have already gone live with the first part. There is a lot of new code to write to help the business offer improved patient management, improved questionnaires and support the NHS.

    There is a whole host of interesting problems to solve. Any interest in neurodiversity can be of distinct advantage.

    The technology used currently is Laravel Vue API (source code is Javascript Vue code), Tailwind UI, Inertia for state management, Laravel Vapor for Devops and PHP Unit and Dusk for QA.

    The core activities for this role will include

    • Using your knowledge of PHP to develop and maintain a suite of services.
    • Participate in code reviews and share knowledge with the wider development team.
    • Troubleshoot, investigate and fix bugs.
    • API integrations and integrations with third-party web services.
    Experience needed

    • Laravel (other frameworks can be considered)


    • PHP

    • MySQL
    • Understanding of security implications
    • Knowledge of AWS and its product stack
    • Knowledge of GIT version control workflows
    • Exposure to third-party REST APIs
    • Unit testing and Test-driven development
    Remuneration
    • Full time
    • Annual salary is £55,000 - £75,000 per annum (based on experience)
    • The engineering team is growing in Cardiff - this is a hybrid role predominately working from home but will require 1 or 2 days a week from the Cardiff South Wales office.
