About the role.


The Purchasing Coordinator will lead and manage a purchasing team to support (capital and revenue) teams, Commercial and operational teams by delivering all procurement and purchasing activities to support the business need.

This will include all procurement and purchasing of Contractors, Materials, Tools, Plant, Workwear and PPE and coordinate in the purchasing of ad-hoc supplies.


The Purchasing Coordinator will lead in all procurement including the management of purchase to payment cycle, for the wider group by producing and issuing of tenders via NEPO, management of tendering process including bid clarifications, evaluation of bids and the awarding of contracts.


The role includes the purchasing materials for a stores service which supplies goods and materials for repairs and maintenance of Gateshead's housing stock, schools and public buildings, Major building works and Highways departments (including street lighting).
