    Description

    Location: Manchester (hybrid working arrangements, typically 2 days per week in the office).

    Employment type: Permament.

    Salary: £100,000 dependent on experience, plus bonus and other benefits.

    The Opportunity:

    We are excited to announce that we are supporting a leading consultancy to find two talented Lead DevOps Architects to drive digital transformation for their clients.

    As a Lead DevOps Architect, you will have the opportunity to shape the future of agile delivery teams by maximizing the benefits of software automation and supporting DevOps adoption.

    In this role, you will define development architectures and set the agenda for clients' evolution of their entire operating models, helping them become agile enterprises. With your expertise, you will be a key player in driving innovation and transformation for their clients.

    As part of your role you will also have the opportunity to contribute to the business, through activities that form part of the following categories:

    • Business Development – Leading/contributing to proposals, RFPs, bids, proposition development, client pitch contribution, client hosting at events.
    • Internal contribution – Campaign development, internal think-tanks, whitepapers, practice development (operations, recruitment, team events & activities), offering development.
    • Learning & development – Training to support your career development and the skills demand within the company, certifications etc.

    To be part of this team, you will have a mixture of the following experience:

    Selection, architecture definition, implementation and use of:

    • Automated CI/CD tooling such as Jenkins, TeamCity, GitLab CI etc.
    • Infrastructure automation and provisioning tooling such as Terraform
    • Compliance and security in CI/CD
    • Orchestration and creation of containers such as Kubernetes, Docker Swarm
    • Productivity, Knowledge and Collaboration tooling
    • Experience of DevOps on leading cloud platforms such as Azure, GCP, AWS, Oracle Cloud
    • Digital delivery/development Target Operating Models, including orientation to the enterprise's value motivation and value outcome
    • Establishment of new ways of working, achieving cultural change and winning hearts and minds
    • Software development, testing, configuration management
    • Agile delivery methods and ceremonies
    • Business and investment case development
    • Proactive client proposal development

    You will:

    • Define compelling visions for DevOps and how, through it, Digital Delivery achieves transformational results in the enterprise's mission
    • Secure executive commitment and funding for adoption of DevOps
    • Define development environment architectures
    • Select appropriate DevOps automation tooling for the context
    • Advise and guide implementation and integration of DevOps toolchain
    • Participate in defining delivery operating models and development methods
    • Contribute to establishing an Agile delivery culture and the place of DevOps within it
    • Conduct quality and lean process improvement – applying Design Thinking for review of development processes to determine failure risks, waits, bottlenecks and develop automation improvements
    • Maintain familiarity with emerging and leading practices and tooling
    • Communicate with both business and IT teams at all levels to ensure alignment and either change the solution or pivot when necessary
    • Utilise data-driven decision making and build appropriate recommendations for your client
    • Cultivate strong relationships among working teams and have exposure to senior leadership
    • Be responsible for developing their business, carrying a personal sales target of £1m
    • Develop next generation of digital architects through formal line management and informal mentoring, coaching and learning development

    As a requirement, all candidates must be SC eligible and come from consulting/consultancy backgrounds (sponsorship cannot be supplied). Some travel may be required based on business demand.
