    Drax has a large number of employees and contractors on site,and it's the Occupational Hygiene team's responsibility to ensure these peopleare working safely.

    As a trainee within a small team, you'll support occupationalhygiene standards across the site and provide specialist advice andinterpretation across all occupational hygiene subjects from; legionella; dustexposure; noise exposure; chemical exposure; heat stress and DSE to name afew.

    The role will involve providing analytical data driven advice toensure everyone who works at Drax goes home safe and well each day.

    You'll contribute to the occupational hygiene sampling and testingprogramme for onsite and offsite locations and provide high quality reports forinternal and external customers, as well as liaising with internal and externalstakeholders to develop risk management policy positions.

    You'll be reviewing HSE guidance on various aspects ofoccupational hygiene and undertaking the Occupational hygiene monitoringprogram to ensure standards are continually improving.

    This will involveworking with Drax cross-divisional Technical Working Groups to develop guidanceand support improvement of plant standards for health.

    It will be expected that you complete the British OccupationHygiene Society (BOHS) development programme supported by Drax within yourfirst two – three years in post to become a certified Occupational Hygienist.

    About you

    A relevant post graduate qualification in occupationalhygiene is desirable.

    Or you may have recently graduated with a degree, 2:2 orhigher equivalent, in a relevant area such as:


    • Occupational health or occupational hygiene
    • Chemistry
    • Applied mathematical subjects or statistics
    • Biological sciences
    • Environmental sciences
    • Other Science related subject
    You'll need to have a valid UK driving licence to be able tocommute to site and surrounding areas.
