- Responsibility for the day-to-day management and development of the Mechanical Engineering team to understand contract specifications, convert requirements into drawing schemes and issue for procurement, manufacture & test.
- Develop a flexible team capable of supporting the succession and growth plans
- Using project management philosophies, and in conjunction with the Projects team, recognise the weekly delivery requirements, and ensure capabilities and capacity to delivery against them.
- Engage with upstream internal suppliers, including Commercial Operations, and down stream delivery including Supply Chain and Manufacturing and Test.
- Drive best practice and continuous improvement within the team
- Develop the team for succession and talent growth.
- Support the development of and subsequent management and reporting of the engineering budget.
- Develop RoadMap projects to address improvement activities of the business.
- Lead key investigations determining root cause and resulting CAPA actions.
- Support H&S awareness across the site to drive down the number of accidents and near misses.
- Support the manufacturing business for fault finding, and rectifications.
- Ensure the business has the correct tools, software, that are fit for purpose.
- Develop a working environment based on the BRUSH values.

Description
Responsible for all mechanical related engineering activities, meeting specifications, producing detailed drawings, and ensuring engineering best practice for the transformer business. This role plays a pivotal part within the Transformer Engineering Team coordinating the activities for Mechanical Engineering, whilst working closely with Electrical Engineering and all other related functions to support the end-to-end process.
