The School of Biosciences is appointing a Project Coordinator to coordinate an international project investigating the performance and livelihood impacts of hybrid energy-agriculture systems in East Africa.


The international consortium comprises the University of Sheffield, University of York, Teesside University, World Agroforestry (ICRAF), African Centre for Technology Studies, Centre for Research in Energy and Energy Conservation, Latia Agribusiness Solutions Ltd.

and Sustainable Agriculture Tanzania.

They have developed two pilot agrivoltaic systems in Kenya and Tanzania, and are conducting experiments to determine the productivity, added value, and livelihood impacts of the systems on local communities and economies.


Under the supervision of the Principal Investigator, the Project Coordinator will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of administration for this project including, financial administration and budget reporting, leading organisation and coordination of activities within the consortium and managing day-to-day administrative tasks related to the project.


Applicants must have a good honours degree and/or Masters degree (or equivalent qualifications/experience) along with experience coordinating projects and teams comprising multiple partners.

Effective communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team and in collaboration with a range of external partners, organising own work to meet deadlines, are also essential.

It is essential that the applicant will have the willingness and ability to travel to Kenya and Tanzania to support project events including organisation of the end of project event in East Africa.
