SF Recruitment are recruiting for a Purchasing Manager for their client in Swadlincote. It is a full time permanent role working Monday-Friday. The salary for this role will be between GBP40,000 and GBP50,000 depending upon experience.

The primary responsibility is to lead and coordinate all purchasing activities within the business. This will include management of the existing supplier base with long term improvement strategies to expand.

The successful candidate will be required to lead the team ensuring production materials are secured on time, meeting quality and price levels.

Suitable candidates will have sound knowledge of ERP/MRP systems and be able to coach others on the roles and responsibilities of purchasing

Oversee the development of the existing supplier base to improve their performance

• Develop long term agreements with suppliers
• Delivery of purchasing excellence programs that mitigate the impact of inflation
• Develop stocking policies which minimise the inventory
• Performance manage, develop, coach and lead the purchasing team
• Strong IT skills specifically Excel, Access, Word
• Contract and negotiation skills
