    PERFECT CANDIDATE are pleased to be working with a global supplier of niche electrical-mechanical solutions to sectors such as Aerospace, Defence, Rail, Medical, Automotive and Motorsport.

    THE ROLE

    You will work alongside sales to pro-actively diversify the supply chain and negotiate commercial terms which benefit customers. You will lead price negotiating and co-ordinate strategic purchases at the front-end of the purchasing department. This will include the ability to deliver customer service and cost savings through smart inventory management and strategic purchasing decisions.

    MAIN DUTIES

    Buying and Delivery:


    • Dynamically negotiate supplier costs and enable more competitive pricing.


    • Develop supplier relationships.


    • Assist sales with obtaining best commercial position for larger project bids.


    • Ensure orders to suppliers enable shipments on-time and in-full.


    • Work with sales to establish accurate forecasting requirements for purchasing.


    • Analyse and achieve pack size optimisation to establish a best-in-class responsiveness to customers and cost savings.


    • Analysis of data to ensure efficient stocking policies deliver commercial benefits. Including ownership and introduction of new stocked parts.

    Supplier & Product Management:


    • Analysis of reporting metrics to manage the external supply base.


    • Point of contact on behalf of the purchase team for certain commodities.


    • Support the introduction of new products from existing and new suppliers.

    Data Maintenance:


    • Placing purchase orders to ensure the inventory is kept at optimum levels.


    • Maintain supplier price agreements, assist with supplier negotiations & communicating changes where appropriate.


    • Ensure ERP data is kept updated and maintained to the highest standard.

    Lean Management:


    • Develop and leverage lean principles and digital solutions to continuously improve process and system efficiencies.


    • An advocate for change; to perform other reasonable duties that may be required.

    EDUCATION AND SUCCESSES

    • Microsoft Software, such as Excel and Outlook.
    • CIPS or similar qualifications preferred but not essential.
    • A track record of consistently exceeding commercial targets.
    • Experienced with business development and/or commercial tasks.
    • Comfortable with lean management tools and culture.
