    Job summary

    Applications are invited for a full-time Healthcare Assistant at Stamford House Surgery. We are a friendly practice with approximately 5,200 patients. The successful applicant will have excellent interpersonal, clinical and IT skills and be a real team player. You will be willing to upskill according to need. Previous experience as a HCA/Phlebotomist in General Practice is essential.

    The role is across 5 days between the hours of 8 am and pm.

    There may also be the requirement to work at Simmondley Medical Practice to cover annual leave.

    Main duties of the job

    In summary this role involves; Blood pressure checks, phlebotomy, lifestyle advice, assisting with minor surgical procedures, SMI and LD healthchecks, ECGs, footchecks and specific injections.

    This list is no exhaustive and there will also be an element of ordering and restocking supplies and emergency equipment checks.

    A willingness to cover administrative tasks, eg Prescription processing and general reception duties is also required.

    Stamford House is a well-established friendly team that works closely with the 7 other practices that make up the Ashton Primary Care Network. Our Clinical team consists of General Practitioners, a Lead Clinical Nurse, a Practice Nurse and a Nursing Associate. We are also suppported by the growing number of PCN staff including Social Prescribers, Paramedics, Pharmacists and Physician Associates.

    Job responsibilities

    Tosupport the practice nursing and administrative teams in the delivery ofclinical and administrative services, working as part of the practice multi-disciplinaryteam, delivering care within their scope of practice to the entitled patientpopulation.

    The Healthcare Assistant will deliver and assistclinical staff in the provision of treatment, preventative care, healthpromotion and patient education whilst also supporting the administrative teamon an as-required basis.
