    Job summary

    This is an exciting opportunity to join a specialistattachment and trauma informed multi-agency team, supporting care experiencedchildren and young people and their carers. The post comprises days inAnchor Emotional Health & Wellbeing Team, and days in our Core Childand Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS), though we are open to part time applications.As an 8a Psychologist you will offer assessment and attachment focusedinterventions to support children, their carers and the network aroundthem to better understand their communications and needs. The complexitiesinvolved in this therapeutic work necessitates a flexible approach tointerventions, and the length of therapeutic work is always clinically driven.Anchor offers a range of therapeutic interventions including therapeuticparenting work, trauma focused interventions (including EMDR), attachmentfocused work, and Analytic Psychotherapy. Your role would also involveconsultation and liaison with professional networks to help increase andstrengthen understanding of the impact of early adversity and trauma. Youwill offer clinical supervision and reflective practice to other members ofstaff.     Main duties of the job

    Working within a multi-agency team alongside other Psychologists, Childand Adolescent Psychotherapists, Senior Mental Health Practitioners, and SocialWorkers offering psychological consultation and interventions to CYPs and theircarers.

    Assessment, formulation, consultation, and intervention for CYPs with anemphasis on systemic thinking and the network. You would work mostly with CYPswho present with complex emotional needs as a result of early adversity andtrauma, using a range of trauma and attachment informed psychologicalinterventions that best meets the needs of the CYP. A central component of thiswork would be with networks and carers, as well as directly with the child.

    You will provide clinical leadership working in collaboration withmanagers, team leads and senior clinicians (appropriate to the stage of yourcareer development) supporting the team through case discussions, formulationand care planning.

    Job description

    Job responsibilities

    Carry a defined caseload of care experienced children and youngpeople who have a varying range of severity and complexity of emotional needand provide support to

    their network and carers, as appropriate.

    Undertake the assessment, treatment and management of patientsreferred to the

    Service with a varying range of severity and complexity ofpsychological problems

    and psychiatric disorders. Assessment and intervention to involvefamilies

    and carers, as appropriate.

    Provide a psychological service to patients referred from otherdepartments, through

    identified pathways, as agreed with the Team/Service Manager.

    Provide psychological therapy, where appropriate, making use of avariety of

    psychological models, as appropriate, with individuals, couplesand/or groups.

    Provide specialised psychological therapies which requirespecialist post-qualification

    experience, supervision and training to acquire the necessaryclinical and therapeutic

    skills and personal resources.

  • Qualifications

    Essential

  • BSc/BA Honours degree at 2:1 or above in psychology
  • Post graduate Doctorate in Clinical/Counselling Psychology (or its equivalent for those trained prior to 1996) as accredited by the British Psychological Society (BPS)
  • Post qualification training in specific, evidence based techniques for use with clients with complex psychological presentations and/or physical health difficulties, across the age span
  • Evidence of regular further professional training and experience as required by the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) and the BPS
  • Eligible for registration as a Chartered Psychologist (Clinical or Counselling) by the BPS
  • Eligible for registration as a Practitioner member of the BPS Division of Clinical/Counselling Psychology
  • Registered with HCPC as a Clinical/Counselling Psychologist
  • I understand that I will be asked to provide original certificates to verify my qualifications at point of offer

  • Experience required specific to the role and clinical area
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience working as a qualified Clinical/Counselling Psychologist within the relevant area
  • Sufficient training and experience to be recognised by the Division of Clinical/Counselling Psychology as a suitably qualified psychologist to offer clinical placements to trainee Clinical/Counselling Psychologists
  • Training and experience in the application of psychological knowledge within a number of different specialties
  • Experience of assessing and providing a wide range of psychological interventions to patients presenting with the full degree of clinical severity and across a range of clinical mental health presentations
  • Experience of conducting clinically relevant research
