Job Description – Chief Financial Officer

Who are we?

Daily Dose is the largest cold pressed juice manufacturer in the UK. We produce all our drinks in-house at our Cambridge factory, after beginning life in our founder's mum's kitchen. At Daily Dose, we produce the finest cold pressed juice made from wonky fruit and veg which would otherwise be thrown away. We focus on sustainability; working with local farmers, turning our organic waste into Biofuels, and only using bottles made from recycled materials.

After going through a period of rapid growth and expansion, we have opened a new factory in Corby and added in a new management structure. With some impressive clients on our list, we have an exciting future ahead

What's the opportunity?

We need a CFO with a laser focus who will be our CEO's right-hand person and a true business partner to our internal and external stakeholders. You will be involved in every aspect of the business, challenging our department heads and providing support and strong collaboration. Used to working in a founder / start up environment, you are excited by the pace and momentum in this environment and are keen to accelerate growth through commercial and strategic guidance and improving operational efficiencies.

Managing a Finance team, this role will shape and elevate our business and become an anchor for the company. This position will require expert reporting and candidates must be confident with PE board level interactions and negotiating with financial institutions.

What will the job involve?

• Contribute to the achievement of overall business objectives through the development and execution of the financial strategy.
• Provide strategic financial insights to guide decision-making and growth initiatives.
• Oversee all reporting processes, including managing the month end and year end process and the submission of timely financial reporting.
• Preparation and ownership of monthly management accounts.
• In-depth understanding and analysis of margin, operating costs etc. to identify trends, risks and opportunities and provide data driven recommendations.
• Prepare and present accurate and timely financial reports at monthly board meeting.
• Ownership of company's debt financing and debtor management.
• Cashflow management.
• Negotiating loans/other facilities e.g. Invoice factoring.
• Oversight of the annual budgeting cycle and quarterly reforecasts, for consolidation into the company plan. Responsible for planning, resource allocation, and forecasting on a long term and short-term basis.
• Develop and maintain all necessary systems, policies, and procedures to ensure effective and efficient financial management within the division.
• Direct and manage the finance team to ensure that they are appropriately motivated and developed so that they carry out their responsibilities effectively.
• Lead and champion change to drive continuous improvement within the company.
• Business partnering and application of financial information to all levels of management including Board of Directors / Investors.

What skills, experience and traits do I need?

• Qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA).
• Minimum of six years in a senior finance role.
• Robust negotiation skills for communications with financial institutions.
• Experience of the food and drink manufacturing industry is essential to understand terms, metrics, and customers.
• Previously operated within PE-backed business.
• Proven experience of driving a growth finance function.
• Start-up experience.
• Excellent commercial and business experience.
• Demonstration of strong interpersonal skills and team management with strong communication skills.
• Proven track record at developing and motivating team members and others around them.
• Attention to detail and analytical skills. Accustomed to working with and interpreting data.
• IT skills –Experience working with Odoo would be desirable.

We are offering a salary package commensurate to a senior finance professional.
