In this Insight Analyst position, you will be joining an expert team who are championing the UK's drive to Net Zero, through supporting public and private sector businesses and organisations to drive innovation across the whole energy system.
They conduct research projects, data modelling, and tests & trials in order to provide technical, commercial, and policy expertise, which will tackle the hardest challenges on the way to Net Zero.

Job description - Environmental Consultant
In this Insight Analyst job, you will be joining a team of specialist energy consultants and analysts, who work to support the public sector and industry to decarbonisation.
You will work with partners to identify, analyse and validate information that can help transform the UK energy system to meet carbon reduction targets, while learning about commercial and competitive strategy techniques.
Using internal resources and external experts to develop an evidence-based analysis for partners, you'll be delivering advice and support to partners as part of their research & development strategy.

In this Insight Analyst job in Birmingham, you will have a focus on delivering external market intelligence
Key responsibilities will include:
Analysing market data and business trends to develop pertinent and rigorous insights which can be used by the respective business units
Contributing to the growth of Market Insight as a strategic capability within the business by identifying appropriate tools for analysing market intelligence for strategic insight
Assessing new energy markets for opportunities and barriers to innovation
Assessing the business' potential impact in specific areas by analysing the current market, helping to inform commercial and innovation strategies
Collaborating with cross-functional teams to support product development, marketing strategies, and business planning
Developing reports, presentations, and dashboards to communicate findings and recommendations to key stakeholders
Be involved in the identification of strategic and delivery collaboration partners
Keeping abreast of industry developments, technological advancements, and market innovations to identify growth
Job requirements - Environmental Consultant
A strong academic background in a relevant discipline (e.g. STEM, Management, Geography, Environmental degrees)
A Master's degree would be highly beneficial, but is not mandatory
Previous experience in a similar position or in the Energy/Environmental sector is preferred, however experience is not mandatory
Strong analytical skills with advanced Excel, the ability to organise, analyse, and extract key strategic insights from significant amounts of information.
An organised self-starter who will take ownership of work and manage delivery effectively and efficiently.Fantastic communication skills - someone who is able to confidently talk about their ideas and findings, and isn't afraid to challenge ideas
Genuine passion and commitment towards low-carbon energy solutions, and environmental sustainability - this must be demonstrated on your CV
Understanding of policies and issues relevant to the Net-Zero energy transition
Open-minded, resilient and intellectually creative
Impeccable writing and presenting skills, capable of communicating engagingly, with accuracy & clarity
