More specifically, in this role you will be expected to:Refinement/Scoping
- Attend planning and refinement sessions, having an active voice in helping to determine acceptance criteria and test strategy for work items.
- Actively participate in team sizing activities.
- Attend story kickoff sessions (e.g., 3amigos) ensuring collective understanding of feature scope.
- Create and advocate tickets for test improvements / tooling.
Feature testing
- Coordinate and conduct manual testing for all features delivered by the development team ensuring acceptance criteria are tested for all supported OSs.
- Work directly with the developers to ensure features that are delivered to test (and onwards to release) meet agreed acceptance criteria.
- Raise impediments and blockers as soon as possible to ensure optimum flow of tickets.
- When appropriate, elicit early feedback from content editors and other stakeholders while features are still under development.
- Work with the Product Owner and Delivery Lead to capture unforeseen features for future refinement sessions.
- Provide daily updates in standup detailing progress of features in Test/Release.
Non-functional testing
- Maintain and update load test scripts, ensuring testing is occurring against viable environment/data and progress is tracked over time.
- Perform other categories of nonfunctional testing as required.
Release
- Organise and conduct release of app variants to Testflight, App Store and Google Play.
- Organise and periodically release backend services through the stack and into production.
- Ensure app builds, environments and data are fully aligned to fulfill release goals.
- Systematically conduct smoke tests to ensure system has not degraded.
- Investigate and troubleshoot failures.
- Maintain documentation regarding the release process.
General
- Strive to reproduce and investigate all reported defects, ensuring full understanding of necessary data points.
- Set up and maintain data for testing in nonprod environments.
- Contribute to weekly demos by preparing and demonstrating completed features.
- Participate in team retrospectives and have an active voice in advocating for improvements to the test process.
Requirements:
Experience working in an early stage start-up is desirable but not required.
