Description
Commercial Manager required to work for a government department. This will be a 6-month contract, paying up to £550 per day, inside IR35. Hybrid working, 2 days per week in the London, Bristol or Manchester office.
Job Summary

You will be expected to provide commercial guidance and support to enable appropriate decision making and maximise value for money both in new procurement activity and existing supplier management, able to act under your own initiative and lead and drive commercialprojects, engaging and influencing key stakeholders across the department.

At the same time, you will work with other commercial team members to enable continuous improvement and commercial capability development with your customers, working to implement new policies and processes as required.

Key Responsibilities

  • Is in place for the business unit, working in partnership with the central Commercial Pipeline Manager.
  • Build and develop BU requirements and statement of requirements to support robust procurement processes.
  • Develop and deliver Business Cases in line with the HMT 5 case model for presentation to Cabinet Office Approvals Board.
  • Ensure BU adherence to all Cabinet Office Approvals.
  • Build effective relationships with your customers (and when applicable across other central government organisations), fostering trust and transparency in order to allow you to provide the best level of commercial advice and guidance.
  • Work with other team members to enable continual improvement and commercial capability development across the business unit.
  • Provide handson targeted contract management support using standard Contract Management frameworks and processes.
  • Provide MI, supplier performance management information and input to Management reports and other requests for information as required.
Essential Experience

  • Demonstrable knowledge and experience of using government contract management and commercial processes.
  • Experience of engaging credibly and confidently with senior management and leadership stakeholders.
  • Excellent prioritisation and organisation skills. Demonstrable understanding of Public Procurement Regulations.
  • Experience of being part of a multidisciplinary team demonstrable.
  • The ability to work collaboratively with government stakeholders, suppliers and endusers at all levels whilst effectively managing expectations of all parties.
  • Confident oral and written communication skills
  • Proven experience balancing changing priorities and dealing with ambiguity.
  • Good working knowledge of the Digital Outcomes and Specialists framework.
  • Good working knowledge and experience of G-Cloud procurement processes.
  • Good knowledge of other Crown Commercial Service frameworks.
  • Previous contract management experience.
