An excellent opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and conscientious person to join our developing pharmacy team, based in Stoke-on-Trent.

We are looking to employ a motivated, efficient Medicines Optimisation Pharmacy Assistant (part time, 15 hours/week) who has previous experience of working in healthcare and holds excellent typing and IT skills.

Ideal for a community-based dispenser looking to experience hospital pharmacy or a hospital based ATO wanting a new challenge.


You will be responsible for overseeing the day to day processes for communicating accurate patient's discharge medicines information and medicine support requirements to external community pharmacies, via 'PharmOutcomes'.

This is a web-based system which helps community clinicians provide services more effectively, to enable you to support patients with their medicines post-discharge and prevent medicines related admissions.

You will be under the supervision of the Clinical Pharmacy Team.


The hardworking individual will also be undertaking duties such as assembling medicines at ward level, topping up wards with pharmacy stock, supporting with in-patient, out-patient and discharge medicines supply.

You willhold4 GCSEs or equivalent - must include Maths and English at grade C/Level 4 or above.

Hold an NVQ Level 2 in Pharmaceutical Services or be willing to work towards one.


You must have a willingness to learn and in return we'll give you our full support and training in the department.
