Description

We are looking for enthusiastic and experienced midwives to join our highly motivated continuity team supporting women with diabetes in pregnancy.

The Tulip Team provide continuity of care in the Antenatal, Intrapartum and Postnatal periods. The team work a variety of shifts including day and night on call cover.


Experienced midwives will receive a period of orientation to the service once the post is commenced prior to joining the team.

All international Midwifery recruitment requiring NMC registration to practice is undertaken on the regional team's behalf by a recruitment agency called neu professionals, there are other agencies available

You will be an excellent communicator, who is also great at listening to women, birthing people and their families, helping them to achieve a high quality, positive and safe experience through the development of personalised care plans.


You will have the chance to work in all areas of our service, including our freestanding and alongside birth centres, obstetric delivery suite, maternity assessment suite, antenatal clinics, community services, home birth team, antenatal and postnatal ward, and theatre.

You will also have the chance to work closely with our specialist teams who love helping our team members flourish, including our enhanced support midwifery team, antenatal screening team, research and development team, rainbow team, diabetes specialist continuity of carer team, and our digital team.

You'll help support & guide our students & maternity support workers too.

Duties to include, but not be limited to:
Assist and support the lead midwife in the safe, effective management of the area including management of personnel, facilities and the associated systems and processes

Act as a role model, presenting a positive image of self, team and the organisation

Be responsible for the delivery and co-ordination of care, through appropriate professional practice, delegation and supervision of duties carried out by less experienced staff

Ensure a high standard of Midwifery care is delivered by self and others based on assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of care to meet patients' needs in accordance with agreed local and National standards and evidence based guidelines

Set, monitor and maintain standards of care to improve the patient experience and outcome of care

Proactively manage risk and maintain patient safety, conforming to health, safety and security legislation, policies, procedures and guidelines

Communicate all relevant information to the multidisciplinary team internally and with external organisations as required, to ensure seamless care

Promote provision of education and health promotion

Promote equality in care and practice by recognising, respecting and meeting the needs and choices of individuals

Ensures environment of care is safe, well equipped and compliant with standards for hygiene and cleanliness
