Evidencing the impact of our work isn't hard in GMP and there's nothing "behind the scenes" about what we do.
We work hand-in-hand with front line officers to find missing people; to identify wanted criminals; to support families with tributes to loved ones; to find witnesses; to explain operations and incidents and provide advice and direction on what to do in emergency situations.
That's alongside telling scores of great stories about successful operations; engaging the public in events; telling our stakeholders about our progress; designing and delivering campaigns that go further than just winning hearts and minds to change behaviour and engaging with our staff so they feel informed, involved and consulted with.
Not only do we actually make a difference; we offer work that's always different:there is no typical day.
If you're looking for a role that helps to deliver a force for good, we're looking for people who are passionate about developing and delivering communication and engagement activity that really serves a purpose: no fluff; no glitter, no spin.
Just results-driven, 'roll your sleeves up', creative communications and engagement that supports our amazing workforce to deliver the fight against crimeThe Role
You will work closely with the Staff Engagement and Internal Communications team, and lead a small team in using a range of communication and engagement channels to ensure that key improvements and successes are effectively communicated.
You will also measure the impact of the communication and engagement activity, preparing reports to capture the lessons learned to inform future activity.
You'll be able to work at pace and develop the team, whilst being able to transform complex information into clear, easy to understand and compelling messaging and to target communication and engagement activity to specific stakeholder groups.
All applicants must be able to demonstrate experience of:- delivering internal communication.
- staff engagement and of how to use a multi-channel approach to achieve aims.
- measuring and evaluating communication activity.
- working at pace and prioritising and meeting tight deadlines often with multiple competing demands.

Roles are all full time and are based at Force Headquarters in Central Park, Manchester with easy access onto the M60, routes into the city centre and is adjacent to a tram stop.
