What you'll be doing:


  • Laminating competency to be measured at a minimum of 60% skilled against MS_ Lam competencies
  • Carry out a Trade specific SLAM workplace inspection before starting every task
  • Abide by all risk assessments, BAE polices and the law
  • Ensure all tools and equipment that are used are suitable, fit for purpose and in date for any inspection required
  • Attend all training courses, Tool Box Talk and briefings
  • Ensure all tools and equipment being used are suitable and in date for any inspection required
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with customers, managing their expectations and needs
  • Complete works in accordance with service orders as detailed by Team Leader
  • Report all accidents, incidents and near misses via the appropriate OSHENS reporting tool
  • Have a Business issued mobile phone to unsure full mobile working capability

Your skills and experiences:


Essential

  • Experience in marine, ship building/ship repair and capable of interpreting engineering drawings
  • Experience of hand layup techniques
  • Marine experience advantageous

Desirable

  • Understanding of health and safety regulations involving laminating and confined spaces
  • Proven track record in marine environment

The Lamination team:


As a Laminator you will work within the operations department, working on-board Naval Ships for the repair and manufacture of projects for our Ministry of Defence and other military and commercial customers.

You will safely and professionally deliver planned and reactive maintenance on a variety of equipment within the key performance indicator criteria while adhering to the working time directive.


This is a fantastic opportunity where you will be able to develop and move up within the wider team into a Team Leader or IWT role.
