Description

You will lead the vitally important Information Management Team comprising of two data analysts and an Information Officer; a team responsible for information production, report writing and data analysis.

The team delivers high quality data for our Senior leadership team and clinicians, and is responsible for our national & mandatory submissions and local reporting requirements.

You will work alongside a Business Intelligence team to expand on the Performance team's function and drive profound cultural change across the organisation.


The post holder will work with the Performance Team and Clinical / Operational leads to liaise, advice, and assist in understanding and interpreting and improving their uses of data and analysis in order to improve data quality within the Trust's Electronic Patient Record.

In addition, you will provide front line Quality Assessment for all performance reporting from the team.


The Head of Information and Data Quality will have advanced technical skills and utilise advanced SQL and Excel skills to logically diagnose and communicate data issues for the management of data from source to target.

The post holder will work closely with the Data Warehousing team to ensure that incoming data is profiled, analysed, assessed and improved.

You will possess advanced analytics to turn data into insight and intelligence to help drive clinical decision making and service transformation.


Job Summary:


  • To line manage the Information Analysts in the Performance Management team
  • To lead on Data Quality and provide front line Quality Assessment for all performance reporting from the team
  • Utilise advanced SQL and Excel skills to logically diagnose and communicate data issues for the management of data from source to target
  • Work with the Performance Team and Clinical / Operational leads to liaise, advice, and assist in understanding and interpreting and improving their uses of data and analysis in order to meet business and service objectives of the Trust
  • Work closely with the Performance Team and the Data Warehousing team to ensure that incoming data is profiled, analysed, assessed and improved
  • Establish a reporting regime to show improvement in quality.
  • Support the Associate Director of Performance to oversee the Trust's Performance Management Framework
  • To support the Associate Director of Performance on Contract Performance Management attending the Contract Meetings with Commissioners including comanagement (with the Associate Director of Performance) of the relationship with Commissioners and reporting of all KPI's and reporting against the contract;

vThe Performance team supports clinical services to ensure the availability of complete, comprehensive, accurate and timely data as an essential component in the provision of high quality mental health services.vPerformance Management - the team is responsible for the Trust's Performance Management Framework that describes and standardises the processes in the Trust and ensures appropriate management of its performance against strategic and operational goals.

This is in support of the IQPR, firmly focused on quality improvement.


vBusiness Intelligence - the development function and is supporting the Trust to integrate all Trust systems through a single data warehouse management platform to produce more powerful self-serve 'near time' integrated reports.

Along with analytics, this enables clinical teams and directorate managers to take ownership of and validate data on an ongoing basis to evidence good performance.

The Head of Information and Data Quality will manage a team of two Data Analysts and an Information Officer within the Performance Team.

The post holder is responsible for the completion and submission of the Trust's national mandatory and commissioner reports and will work to improve Data Quality (DQ) within the Trust's main Electronic Patient Record, Lorenzo to optimise Trust performance.

The Information Management & Data Quality support function ensures that Trust can meet:

  • National mandatory reports (primarily MHSDS submissions to NHSE).
  • Reporting requirements in main contracts with commissioners/ ICB.
  • Numerous regular operational management reports and ad hoc requests for information from internal or external sources, including FOIs.
  • The requirement to understand the root causes of data quality problems within the Trust and to put in place processes to support staff to prevent them.
