The post holder will be a key contributor to ensuring the highest quality of journalism and production values from the field and from Iran International and Afghanistan newsrooms and studios.
Responsibilities:
- Ensuring rotas for your teams are accurate (recording shifts, leave, sickness), and planned in advance to fully resource a 24hour service.
- Reporting sickness, leave and shifts to various departments including Human Resources and Finance.
- Financial reporting across the department overtime and special payments and tracking of spend in conjunction with either the Head of Editorial Support or a Production Manager.
- Working with Producers and Editors on deployments and planning, arranging travel, kit, risk assessments and advances as necessary.
- Maintaining, operating, and improving a range of office processes and administrative systems to ensure the smooth running of the team and accurate record keeping for the department and deployments.
- Negotiate rates for resources as necessary and raise POs for these resources.
- Manage the relationship between vendors and the business including the workflow of invoice payments.
- Raise contracts for resources as necessary.
- Ensuring business compliance through requirements such as IR35 assessments and Right to Work Checks.
- Ensure payments for guests, contributors and vendors are fulfilled.
- Fulfil any postproduction paperwork as necessary, including archive rights and music reporting.
- Liaise with Volant departments for resources as necessary and ensure all processes are followed.
- Fulfil other administrative tasks as necessary.
Requirements:
- Reporting to the Editorial Support Manager (News).
- Strong understanding of Iran and Afghanistan International's editorial vision.
- Good comprehension of TV News production.
- Knowledge of data protection law.
- Interpersonal and communication skills sufficient to establish and maintain effective relations with a wide range of internal and external contacts.
- Proven track record of being organised and responsive in fastpaced environments, often with conflicting demands.
- Proven financial acumen.
- Excellent Computer proficiency (MS Office
- Word, Excel, and Outlook).
- Sound knowledge of experience of using a scheduling system (ideally RotaCloud) and financial systems such as NetSuite.
