The Graduate Development Programme is a two-year initiative crafted to realize your potential as an industry professional. Whether your aspirations lean towards business leadership or technical specialization, our programme equips you for success in both realms. You can expect

Engineering & Maintenance Programme:
Sellafield, West Cumbria.


Engineering and Maintenance at Sellafield Ltd faces some of the most unique & challenging work in the industry, and our profession enables us to accelerate high hazard reduction in a safe, environmentally responsible, cost effective and pragmatic manner.


As a Graduate within the Engineering & Maintenance Profession, your time will split over four six-month placements, each giving you the ability to strengthen your technical knowledge and behavioural skills.


You will feel strong sense of inclusion from day 1 of joining your team and enjoy plant facing/equipment programme*, central and design placements across the two years with an aim to broaden your skill set.

You will be given the opportunity to get involved in projects, or roles in parallel to the work you deliver in your placements, give back to the community through social impact and STEM activities, work on your personal development and progress towards a permanent role post scheme in the business area you are part of.

(*discipline dependent).

The work you will be involved in, is directly aligned to UK SPEC supporting progression towards IEng and CEng.

You will be provided with a professionally registered Technical Mentor who will support you not only on the Graduate Scheme but throughout your career at Sellafield Ltd.

There is an active expectation that individuals shall progress to achieve professional registered status.

We are looking for

For our Engineering & Maintenance programme we are looking for graduates who have studied the following degree disciplines:

  • Civil Engineering
  • Chemical Engineering
  • Electrical Engineering
  • Mechanical Engineering
  • Physics

Please note:
Working at Sellafield Ltd requires you to achieve both security and medical clearance throughout the on-boarding process.

What you will receive in return.


On top your annual salary, you'll have the opportunity to benefit from an annual bonus, linked to company performance, of up to £4000.


If you're relocating here from more than 30 miles away, we'll support you with a relocation allowance of £1,400 and give you plenty of information on the best areas to live and how to find a place too.

£1,400 can provide you with rent cover for up to 3-months in some areas of west cumbria.
