An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 4 Therapy Assistant with a passion for hospital avoidance & community rehabilitation in peoples own homes.

The service runs over 7 days. This is a permanent vacancy comprising of Full and Part Time Positions


Due to the recent development of the Own Bed Instead Service (OBI) there is opportunity to follow the 'Home First' approach, implementing the Discharge to Assess model.

Within the team we have Occupational Therapists, physiotherapists, nurses and social workers.

We work as part of a collaborative MDT to provide rapid assessment and intervention to people across the Dudley borough.


To provide effective and efficient rehabilitation under the supervision of qualified therapists to a caseload of adult patients with a variety of conditions who require community rehabilitation.

To carry out and progress rehabilitation programs set by Physiotherapists and Occupational Therapists, working alone in patient's homes.

Dimensions

  • To function as a therapy assistant within the community carrying out and progressing treatment plans set by qualified therapists.
  • To support therapists in delivering care when 2 members of staff are required.
  • To assess for and order basic pieces of equipment for patients
  • To make efficient use of the resources of the service.
  • To assess and treat patient's triaged to have simple mobility problems
  • To assess and treat patients at risk of falling
