Our Detail Design Team:
As an Associate Detail Designer, you will specialise in the art of 3D CAD integration, and production of Engineering outputs, primarily in the form of drawings.
They are also deployed in other parts of engineering as technical support to engineers or as part of a systems engineering team that has focus on the integration of engineering toolsets such as CAD/PDM/ERM tools.
Detail Design is one of the largest engineering disciplines at Naval Ships and covers a wide range of delivery focused engineering tasks.
What you'll be doing:
- Produce and develop designs in line with specifications and all quality and technical standards, and carry out detail design appraisals in assigned areas to ensure all standards are maintained
- Carry out investigations into operational problems or developments and develop and prepare solutions, individually or as a member of a team
- Support the development of best practice to increase the capability, performance of tools and processes
- Perform selfverification of own tasks to ensure quality and arrange checking of work by appropriate team members
- Answer Technical queries about his/her own work and that of subordinates within their level of knowledge and competency
- Appreciates and can articulate the value of the engineering lifecycle and the relationship to the Lifecycle Management Process
Your skills and experiences:
Essential:
- Minimum HNC/HND in engineering, technology, or science or equivalent
Desirable:
- May have previously completed a trade apprenticeship
- Working towards EngTech
