    Description

    You'll be responsible for planning applications from commencement to completion and ensuring delivery is achieved to target. You'll be expected to maintain client relationships and ensure repeat business with our existing portfolio. This position will see you assisting colleagues with tender submissions and helping to manage larger scale projects including assisting with coordinating project management, the production of deliverables in line with the client's expectations and helping to ensure work is submitted on time. You may also be required to assist in public consultations with preparatory materials and represent RPS at public events in support of a wider client proposal and attend and monitor committee and other hearings.

    You'll be joining a large, well-established team and collaborative team who are committed to provide outstanding advice and outcomes for our clients. This new role is a result of an ever-growing list of major instructions in the Leeds office serving clients across the UK.

    Who we're looking for
    We'd like you to have a relevant degree (or equivalent), be qualified as MRTPI and have solid experience of preparation and submission of planning applications and lawful development certificates. You'll need to be highly competent at project delivery and welcome the opportunity to work as part of a highly experienced and diverse multi-disciplinary team. You'll be technically sound and up to date with current methods, legislation, procedures and standards. Familiarity with EIA preparation or an interest in this process would be of relevance.

    An interest or some experience of energy development is advantageous as there will be substantial work related to this sector. Good time and project management skills are a must as are sound influencing and communication skills that enable you to maintain working relationships with colleagues, clients and external bodies.

    Experience of progressing planning applications in the North of England would be advantageous but not a necessity.
