    Description
    Principal Backend Web / Elixir Developer

    Location:
    one site visit every 5 weeks to Bristol or Cardiff.


    We are seeking a Principal Backend Web Developer to take on an influential technical role in the development of our clients web delivered products which form a key element of its portfolio of products and services.

    This is a greenfield project.


    • You will be accountable for designing and developing highly stable, secure, scalable and extensible platforms that enables the Web delivered products to evolve at pace.
    • You will report to the Head of Web & App Development and will form a key part of the team which defines the strategy for the product development in terms of technical approach and technology selection.
    • You will possess backend development capability, however full stack experience would be beneficial or at least a strong appreciation of the challenges of frontend development.
    • You will be deeply excited and interested in evolving technologies and driven by how to apply these to solve complex challenges as the platform and business rapidly grow.

    Responsibilities:
    As a Principal Backend Web Developer you will embrace best-practice software development processes.


    You will work with the Product Management team, following Agile working practices, to deliver high performing Web delivered products and services.


    Requirements:

    • Technical Depth & Breadth: Previous experience with global cloud-hosted internet platforms solutions, with strong understanding in technology ranging from infrastructure and operations to data architectures.
    • Experience of modern web technologies, with rapid deploy, automated scaling, and high volume, high availability distributed systems. In depth experience of engineering delivery at scale with a demonstrable track record of outstanding results.
    • Experience with Elixir
    • Experience Phoenix Framework and Phoenix Liveview
    • Have at least 5 years' development experience with at least 3 years in an Agile environment.
