Job summary
Applications are invited for a full time locum appointment as a Consultant Musculoskeletal Radiologist.
The post would be for 12 months commencing from September 2024 and based at the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital NHS Trust, Stanmore.
Full GMC registration and licence to practise essential.
Ideally the successful candidate will have completed fellowship training in musculoskeletal radiology (or overseas equivalent) and have had a wide range of experience in musculoskeletal conditions including sarcoma.
Main duties of the job
The successful candidate will work with the current team to provide the highest level of patient care in musculoskeletal imaging including diagnostic and interventional musculoskeletal radiology and will be expected to be active in research, presentation and publication.
We are seeking a candidate that works with a patient/problem-orientated approach to orthopaedic conditions including actively participating in various weekly MDT meetings as required.

The hospital is a leading institution of international reputation in the field of orthopaedics and is a centre of excellence for complex spinal and MSK oncological treatment. The primary base is at Brockley Hill, Stanmore Middlesex supported by Central London outpatient facilities. There are units for shoulder, foot and ankle, peripheral nerve injuries, spine, joint replacement, paediatric orthopaedic, hip, rheumatology, sarcoma and metabolic bone disease. Our Team is tight knit and work well together.

You would be expected to share in the general workload, including interventional and diagnostic ultrasound lists, fluoroscopically guided joint injections and biopsies, CT interventional lists, in addition to sharing in the reporting of complex orthopaedic cross-sectional and plain film imaging.
The post-holder would be expected to work ten fixed sessions which would include 1 SPA and would not be expected to participate in the on-call rota.
