- Working closely with pupils who present with challenging behaviour
- Leading sports sessions at break and lunchtimes
- Providing 1:1 support to children in class
- Using sports as a way to mentor children
- De-escalating situations where children have showed extreme behaviours
- Leading academic interventions with children working below age expected levels
- Assisting the class teacher with the set up of lessons
- Liaising with the class teacher and school SENCO around progress of the pupils
- Holds a TA qualification or relevant degree
- Holds at least one sports based qualification
- Has had either TeamTeach training or MAPA Training (Desirable not essential)
- Previously supported children with challenging behaviours
- Has an understanding of supporting SEN pupils

Do you have experience in working with pupils with challenging behaviour? Are you able to inspire pupils to learn?
Empowering Learning are working alongside a school in the Mickleover area (DE3) who are looking to appoint a sports & learning mentor to work across their KS2 cohort. The role is full time and initially on a fixed term contract starting ASAP. The role has the potential to become permanent for the right person.
The hours of work are 8:30-4:00 and working days are Monday to Friday.
