Overview:

We currently have an excellent opportunity for an enthusiastic

PROJECT CO-ORDINATOR. As a member of the Project Management team at Element Deeside, the Project Coordinator has an important role in supporting the Project Managers and Technical Director in successfully managing a portfolio of clients from the contaminated land, hydrocarbon, industrial, mining and waste sectors who rely on the laboratory for the delivery of accurate environmental data. Acting as one of the main links between the laboratory and our clients, you will be highly motivated, proactive and an effective communicator liaising between various departments, subcontractors and clients. This role would suit a science/science related graduate with great customer service skills looking to start a career within the environmental testing industry.

Element Deeside is the largest analytical chemistry laboratory within the Element Group and the market leading UK laboratory undertaking the testing of soils, waters, wastes, oils, NAPLs, ambient air, soil vapours, and gases from all over the world.

The laboratory undertakes high volume routine analysis as well as offering bespoke method development, technical support and hydrocarbon forensic interpretations to enhance the support we can deliver.

The laboratory has an international reputation for service excellence and supports clients that require a higher level of technical expertise, reliability in data quality and seamless project management from sample collection to timely delivery of data.


Responsibilities:


  • Responsible for assisting Project Managers with daytoday administrative tasks, ensuring jobrelated paperwork is in order as well as managing the receipt and entry of subcontracted data
  • Aiding the Project Managers in managing client expectations and liaising with the Production Manager and other laboratory departments to ensure customer turnaround times are achieved
  • Keeping clients updated regarding the progress of their analysis and informing them of any delays or factors that may affect their data or deadlines
  • Responsible for generating validated client reports from within the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) and evaluating data for errors or discrepancies
  • Responsible for managing client deliveries to ensure that the correct containers arrive ahead of commencement of a site project. Working with the dispatch team to ensure that client's needs are effectively communicated
  • Identifying, tracking & resolving client data queries within an appropriate timeframe with the aid of the Project Management and Technical Teams as well as uploading lab data queries into the quality management system
  • Ensuring Purchase order numbers /upfront payments are received where applicable before releasing data to clients
  • Recognizing, exemplifying and adhering to Element's values which center on our commitment to People, Customer Service and Safety
  • Complying with the company Quality and Health & Safety procedures at all times
  • Building knowledge to deal with advanced queries and duties through mentorship and shadowing with the Project Managers, including interpretation and ageing of Extractable Petroleum Hydrocarbon chromatograms

Skills / Qualifications:

  • A highly motivated and organised individual, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team and can adhere to strict deadlines
  • Good organisational, problemsolving and time management skills
  • Excellent attention to detail, particularly regarding data management, entry and review
  • Alternative qualifications will be considered depending on relevant equivalent experience
