We are seeking a Functional Skills Tutor/Learning Coach

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a forward-thinking training provider, who value and appreciate staff, offering excellent prospects


The purpose of the role is to deliver Functional Skills - English and Mathematics level 2 mainly for the Ministry of Justice contacts in training centres to large groups of learners on a weekly roll on/roll off programme, with 3 days delivery, fourth day exam prep and exam.


DUTIES

  • To Deliver English, Maths in line with customer requirements in group sessions in the centre and one to one
  • To work with a caseloads of learners
  • To understand and agree with employers, learners and each learners starting point and skills development needs
  • Using the companies English and Maths delivery process, to agree a training plan with each learner
  • Dealing with learners face to face in the centre in groups, also remotely
  • Review progress
  • Carry out regular caseload reviews
  • Using eportfolio system
  • Ensure evidence for learning, achievement, funding and Ofsted is captured
  • Working closely with IQA's on best practice, development needs, providing sampling

ESSENTIAL FOR THE ROLE
Strong in mathematics delivery and or qualifications

In-depth knowledge of specifications for Functional Skills

Must be a car owner/driver - all mileage paid

Flexible to travel to the Midlands Branch to cover occasionally and for meetings

  • Plan and deliver tutoring sessions tailored to each student's individual needs
  • Help students develop effective study skills and strategies
  • Monitor student progress and provide feedback to parents/guardians
  • Collaborate with parents, teachers, and other professionals to support student learning
  • Maintain accurate records of tutoring sessions and student progress

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in education or related field preferred
  • Experience working with children, especially in a tutoring or teaching capacity
  • Knowledge of special education principles and practices is a plus
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Patience and the ability to adapt teaching methods to meet individual student needs
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
