The Role:


Purpose


Reporting to the UK Operations Manager, the Business Planning Senior Advisor's main role is to support frontline delivery through leading value enhancing projects with a particular focus on the business model (known as the RBA model) and initiatives between Shell and Retailer.


The Business Planning Senior Advisor is expected to lead the annual Retailer business planning process, to set challenging but achievable targets for the Retailers in such a way that they will be motivated to achieve their targets to benefit both their business and Shell.


They will ensure that key external service partners deliver their contract expectations and offer true value to the Retailers and Dealer partners who operate the service stations.


Accountabilities

  • Lead annual Retailer business planning process.
  • Contract Owner for a range of high value Operations contracts (e.g., KPMG, Lloyds).
  • Operations team representation for cross functional projects.
  • Liaise with Global Operations Excellence team to ensure adhere and compliance with Global Operating Principles (GOP).
  • Work closely with Sales team to understand complex arrangements (e.g., Cap and Floor, Mass Replans).
  • Work effectively with SBO Business Planning advisor to ensure relevant payments and processes are done.
  • Indirectly lead SBO Business Planning Advisor and SBO Operations Sales Support to look for additional value / efficiency efforts.

What we need from You

  • Education: Degree or equivalent business experience required.
  • Highly skilled in Excel.
  • Ability to make decisions and recommendations based upon a range of sometimes ambiguous data and to back up with appropriate rationale.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills, ability to explain complex topics to non SMEs.
  • Strong project management skills.
  • Finance experience or knowledge would be an advantage.
  • Ability to think strategically and implement tools & procedures to enable field execution of initiatives.
