    Description
    Management Accountant

    Part Time - 21 hours per week | £35,000 - £37,000 pro-rata | Ambleside

    Reporting to the Head of Finance and managing two experienced Finance Officers, the Management Accountant will oversee the accounting function and financial procedures, preparing management accounts, forecasts and budgets.

    Responsible for ensuring compliance with legal, accounting, regulatory and taxation obligations, this role is pivotal in assisting senior leaders in making critical business decisions by preparing, analysing and presenting key financial data.

    Education and Qualifications

    Essential:
    • ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualification or qualified by experience

    Skills and Experience

    Essential:
    • Experience of managing financial ledgers, systems and processes
    • Experience of preparing management accounts and budgets
    • Strong IT skills, particularly in Excel, and the ability to manage large amounts of data
    • Excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to explain complex financial information in a clear way
    • Possesses strong interpersonal and teamwork skills, with the ability to work with colleagues at all levels, including non-finance members of staff

    Desirable:
    • Experience of working with Sage and a range of other accounting systems
    • Experience of charity sector accounting
    • Experience of in-house payroll
    • Evidenced people management skills and experience
