    Job Type: Part-time (Up to 18 hours per week), Permanent.

    Working Hours: Monday to Friday (Flexible hours within the week), some evening work will be required to attend Council meetings.

    Job Description: We are seeking a motivated and organised individual to join our team as Deputy Parish Clerk. Reporting directly to the Parish Clerk, the Deputy will play a key role in supporting the efficient operation of the Parish Council.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Assist the Parish Clerk in preparing agendas, attending meetings, and taking accurate minutes.
    • Handle correspondence, emails, and phone calls, providing timely responses and excellent customer service.
    • Maintain and update Parish Council records, including financial documents, policies, and procedures.
    • Assist with the organisation of community events, consultations, and public meetings.
    • Manage the Parish Council's website and social media presence, ensuring content is up-to-date and engaging.
    • Support the Clerk in the implementation of Council decisions and the execution of projects.
    • Undertake general administrative tasks as required to support the smooth operation of the Parish Council.
    • Assist in ensuring compliance with relevant legislation, including health and safety regulations.
    • Support the Council's Committees as required.
    • Engage with residents and colleagues from other council departments to address inquiries and concerns effectively.
    • Utilise strong spreadsheet skills for data analysis and reporting purposes

    Requirements:

    • Excellent organisational and communication skills.
    • Strong attention to detail and the ability to produce accurate written records.
    • Proficiency in IT, including Microsoft Office suite and strong spreadsheet skills for data analysis and reporting.
    • Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a small team.
    • Previous experience in a similar administrative role is desirable but not essential.
    • Knowledge of local government procedures and legislation would be advantageous.
    • Ability to follow up on work and queries to ensure timely completion and resolution.
    • Must hold a UK Full driving licence and access to own car.
