    Job summary

    An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Booking Clerk to join the Antenatal Patient Access Centre team at Liverpool Women's Hospital on a 12-month fixed-term basis.

    The post holder is responsible for the booking and scheduling of appointments.

    Main duties of the job

    The successful candidate will be an excellent communicator who is computer literate and can quickly learn several different systems, including e-Referral, Meditech, Outlook and Excel.

    A large proportion of the Booking Clerk's role is to be our patients' first point of contact; therefore, a very high standard of customer service skills is required, as an exceptional telephone manner and a calm, understanding and caring nature. Patient Access Centre manages a high volume of calls daily, and the post holder will be required to support the chronological booking and scheduling of clinic appointments.

  • Experience of working in a NHS contact centre, reception or equivalent appointment booking environment.
  • Previous experience of data entry/ input.

  • Knowledge of a hospital-based Patient Administration System.

  • Understanding of confidentiality, Data Protection and Caldicott principles.
  • Able to recognise and resolve routine issues referring where appropriate
