Renowned for advising local building surveying teams nationwide, they provide consultancy services covering feasibility studies to full detailed design across diverse sectors in both private and public domains.

    Role Overview: Joining as a Senior Mechanical Design Consultant, you will play a pivotal role in driving the success of the team. This role promises an exciting opportunity to lead and contribute to a variety of projects, all while ensuring continuous professional development within the industry.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Lead the delivery of mechanical design consultancy services, spanning feasibility studies, performance and full design information (RIBA Stages 1-7), project quality monitoring (M&E), witness testing, and commissioning.
    • Develop precise technical specifications and equipment schedules.
    • Actively participate in project client and design team meetings, fostering effective communication and collaboration.
    • Conduct thorough visual inspections of mechanical systems and deliver detailed reports.
    • Leverage advanced computer-aided design and design calculation software.
    • Collaborate seamlessly with other work streams within the business unit.
    • Advocate for energy efficiency and carbon reduction opportunities within projects.
    • Play a key role in optimizing the commercial and contractual performance of projects.
    • Ensure value for money is achieved in all project circumstances.

    Personal Specification: We are seeking a candidate who:

    • Approaches the role with a positive and proactive attitude, demonstrating commitment to advancing the M&E design offering.
    • Holds professional qualifications in engineering/building services (HNC/Degree).
    • Brings substantial experience from within a reputable building services consultancy.
    • Is a member of a professional/industry body (CIBSE/IMT/Engineering Council).
    • Demonstrates a passion for sustainable engineering and hands-on experience with decarbonization M&E projects.
