AKTON recruitment is working closely with the local aauthortires and we are lookimng for an Administrative Assistant in the Havering area.

The - 6 months contract role. This is a remote working job. Occasional attendance at the office may be required.


Main Purpose of the Job/Key Objectives:

  • Assist the Personalisation Manager in the set up and management of Direct Payments.
  • To work with Service Users or their representatives as required providing comprehensive information, advice and guidance to help them manage their direct payments.
  • To administer and enforce the Direct Payments Guidance and adhere to procedures for its implementation.
  • To escalate issues requiring management decisions appropriately.
  • Undertake assessments with individuals to determine their suitability in becoming a direct payee and the support that they may need to manage direct payments.
  • Maintain all relevant documentation and administration systems relating to each service user, including data entry onto the electronic recording system
  • Support implement and maintain the card payments system ensuring knowledge of the required practice and protocols around monitoring through the system
  • Provide advice and guidance related to the accounts and related card payments system as necessary
  • Report cases to line management in a timely manner, ie exceptional irregularities found with expenditure and / or direct payment management. In high risk cases liaise with operational colleagues to agree a resolution.
  • Provide effective and excellent customer service as part of a front line team and ensure that service users are given appropriate information in formats that are accessible to them, in a timely manner.
  • Keep up with changes to Social Care Policies and adhere to new procedures.
  • Provide advice to service users of any financial changes to their Direct Payment to ensure service users are appraised of their Budget.
  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of information systems to ensure accurate recording of financial data.
  • Adhere to Data protection requirements and observe customer confidentiality.
  • Establish maintain and update all databases, of whatever type, to give detailed statistical data in regard to all aspects of Direct Payments

Experience

  • Of working with numbers and good literacy.
  • Working with members of the public providing information, advice and support.
  • Use and maintenance of Excel Spreadsheet.
  • Of dealing with members of the public over the telephone
  • Of working within Social Care
  • Ability to use Liquid Logic and ICT programmes
  • Experience of interpretation and preparation of technical data, including record keeping and report writing.
