About the role

Balfour Beatty has an exciting opportunity for a talented
Environment & Sustainability Advisor to join our Power T&D team in Glasgow, Scotland.

This role will see you supporting and advising operational teams on all aspects of environmental management, developing environmental documentation, meeting legal and company standards and helping deliver a culture of continual improvement.

You will work with Clients and Regulators to ensure their environmental requirements are complied with, support on site mitigation, and engage with local stakeholders and members of the public.

What you'll be doing

  • Provide advice and support to operational teams on environmental matters.
  • Develop and maintain local environmental management and sustainability plans.
  • Maintain relationships with regulators, clients and subcontractors.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with local stakeholders.
  • Investigate and report incidents to the Environment & Sustainability Project Partner.
  • Ensure the environmental management system is maintained in line with changing standards and legislation and Client requirements.

Who we're looking for

  • Strong knowledge of environment management and sustainable development.
  • Educated to degree level in Environmental Science or Environmental Management.
  • Understanding of ecological and archaeological matters and environmental law.
  • Commercial awareness.
  • Valid driver's licence and flexibility to travel.
  • Understanding of the utilities/construction/engineering operating environment
  • Proficient in MS Office Word, Excel, Outlook.

Desirable:

  • Planning experience
  • Knowledge of the Construction Industry
  • IEMA Membership
