We are looking for a forward thinking Developing Young Workforce (DYW) School Co-ordinator to work in school with school staff and partners to deliver our programme for our young people.

The role will be to support senior leaders in the school to embed the Developing the Young Workforce Strategy and other employer offers within the curriculum.

A crucial part of the role is coordination of activity associated with the Young Person's Guarantee (YPG).

Co-ordinators will create and implement a structure for employer engagement which reflects the school's demographic, regional and local DYW plans and maintain a robust network of partners within the local business community.

In doing so they will support school leadership teams in fulfilling national priorities around employability and enterprise, Career Education Standard and Work Placement Standard.

By paying close attention to local and national employment data and fostering good relationships, DYW School Coordinators identify opportunities for collaborative working focussed on better outcomes for young people.

Co-ordinators will work in partnership with guidance teachers, DYW staff, SDS Careers advisors, other third sector providers and other partners to identify young people who would most benefit from increased employer engagement and then facilitate the employer aspect of these interventions.

As part of the wider DYW group they will help ensure that support is targeted at groups aligned to DYW Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).

Part of the role will be to contribute to the capture of all work inspiration activities and interventions delivered with the school, including changes in Strategic partnerships, to align with the DYW national KPIs helping to report school activity and data associated with DYW (in relation to KPI's), providing evidence of activity at key stages throughout the year.

Requirements:

The focus of the role is to develop and implement a programme of employer engagement aimed at enhancing the curriculum and increasing pupils' career awareness and skills development.

Pupil focused delivery

Work alongside SDS Careers Advisor, Opportunities for All Coordinators and MCR Coordinators (where applicable) to ensure that employer offers are targeted at the pupils who would benefit most
Work alongside the regional DYW group to ensure that support is targeted at groups aligned to DYW KPIs
Work with key local partners and stakeholders to provide industry led activity which will support pupils post school transition and engage with Youth Guarantee services
Support wider ambition for Foundation Apprenticeships Level 4/5/
Ensure that DYW is appropriately highlighted and embedded across each stage of the curriculum in the senior phase.

Partnerships and networks

Liaise with the Senior Management Team, Wider Achievement Officers and Principal Teachers to ensure strategic direction of the DYW agenda is reflected within the curriculum.
Support teaching staff to deliver meaningful industry relevant experiences and qualifications
Liaise with relevant staff to support Work Experience and Career Ready Programmes by sourcing placements
Foster and establish partnerships with businesses, other learning providers e.g. colleges and third sector organisations.
Manage all DYW and wider programmes to promote opportunities within the wider school community i.e. pupils, teachers, parents.

Monitoring and review

Manage all reporting of school activity and data associated with DYW (in relation to both National and local KPI's), while providing evidence of activity at key stages throughout the year
Increasing participation across the whole school in work inspiration and work experience activity with particular reference to those furthest away from the labour market
Increase the number of businesses working directly with the school to improve opportunities for young people
Undertake regular review and evaluation of programmes and activities associated with DYW.

Leadership

Develop a school DYW working group that supports the DYW objectives within the school and those included within the school improvement plan
Be the lead in engaging with Marketplace, Founders4Schools and E-DYW to optimise the opportunities available to learners
Work as a part of a DYW Coordinators network to create specialisms to develop and deliver to all schools
Develop staff understanding of the CES, supported by school Opportunities for All Coordinator and SDS.
