Kingdown School is looking to appoint a talented a
Careers Leader to plan, deliver and provide a full and impartial careers programme, including access to careers guidance, for all our students.


Working Hours:
Part Time (37 hours per week, 41 weeks, includes Teacher Training Days)


Salary:

£ £19.00 per hour (£29,269 - £36,648 pro rata per annum)


Contract:

Permanent

Kingdown School is a co-educational, non-denominational secondary school and sixth form, educating young people between the ages of 11 and 18 years.

We have a strong reputation in the local community and beyond, built on an unswerving focus on the quality of teaching and learning and great pastoral care.

Ranked in the top 10 secondary schools in Wiltshire, our school is located in the charming garrison town of Warminster, with excellent links to Salisbury, Bath, Bristol and the South-West.

We are an academy under Acorn Education Trust, which provides exciting opportunities to collaborate and improve local education.


Leading our career guidance team, you will develop a strategic and progressive careers programme, tracking and evaluating its impact to support our school and sixth form students in finding their next best step, including further support for disadvantaged students.


Responsible for commissioning, line managing and engaging other stakeholders in developing an aligned whole school approach to careers, you will be someone who shares our passion in preparing young people for the future.


We are looking for someone who:

  • Is educated to degree level;
  • Has an appropriate Careers Leadership, Adviser (or equivalent) qualification, or is willing to gain this qualification on the job;
  • Is a member of a professional body (desired);
  • Has a passion for delivering high quality and exciting opportunities for children;
  • Has strong interpersonal and communication skills and is able to work with a variety of students and staff as well as external providers;
  • Has superb attention to detail as well as excellent organisational and IT skills;
  • Is selfmotivated dedicated and consistent with a confident and engaging personality;
  • Has the ability to deal with new challenging situations;
  • Is a strong team player with a positive and flexible attitude.
