    We are currently recruiting an apprentice Civil Engineer based in London and the South East of England.

    About the job/apprenticeship: What the job involves, its roles and duties.

    In this apprenticeship you will follow a Civils/Project Management pathway, learning the duties of a civil engineer / project manager for the installation District Heating networks.

    The level 6 apprenticeship programme has a duration of 60-month, followed by the period of the End Point Assessment. , The standard aligns with the following professional recognition: Joint Board of Moderator professional engineering institutions for Incorporated Engineer (IEng).     During your apprenticeship, you will be working from various sites situated in the South East of England and London, 4-days a week, Monday-Friday, 8 hours each day and attending university 1 day per week.

    The Apprentice will typically undertake the following tasks during the apprenticeship.

    • Report to the setting out engineer / Project Manager on all aspects related to setting out and record keeping.
    • Assisting the setting out, levelling and surveying of the site. Mapping and surveying and responsibility for the digital computation, recording and reporting of data / statistics.
    • Supervision of materials and ensuring relevant documentation is compliant.
    • Assisting the PM or Contracts Manager in project management duties.
    • Ensure detailed site diaries/records are completed.
    • Ensure a consistently high standard of work is produced in accordance with specification and quality standards through regular quality inspections with sub-contractors.
    • Assisting with the resolution of technical / engineering problems.
    • Examine the design information with the PM/ setting out engineer, to ensure plans and drawings are accurate and achievable.
    • Assist in the production of as built records.
    • Assist the setting out engineer with producing ITP's and ensure they are signed off by relevant parties.
    • Along with the setting out engineer ensure that the QA File is produced and maintained.
    Requirements: Any experience and/or education requirements.
    • Be aged 18 and over.
    • Be living and eligible to work in the UK.
    • Have achieved a minimum of 5 GCSEs (or equivalent) at Level 4/C which must include Maths & English.
    • To be able to travel to attend university at LSBU 1 day a week. UKPRN: (phone number removed).
